Parked was developed after stumbling upon Handshake, a decentralized naming system that allows you to register top-level domains for hosting websites, sending crypto, and more.

Some goals of the project were to enable domain purchases using Bitcoin and allow users to make offers through a form.
Starting with a goal is a great way to stay focused on any projects objective. In our case, showcasing domain names and creating a checkout experience for accepting Bitcoin.
To attract users to both Handshake and our parking service, we spent a lot of time during development acquiring names for a gifting campaign.
In short, we registered 100+ names of prominent companies, organizations, and individuals in different spaces to gift away.
In return for the name, we asked on our Claim Reserved Name page that the recipients post an announcement of the gift on their social media accounts.
The launch of ://parked/ was successful with many names being sold immediately and numerous reserved names being claimed by the selected recipients.
